Default f22 sputtering above 2000 rpm

i just dropped a f22a6 into my 91 accord lx, and when it runs it idles high and will not go above 2000 rpm. it just sputters and fluxuates between 1800-2100. also there is a slight nocking noise on the timing belt side of the car. Any ideas? it seems like the timing is off slightly so im going to change that today...

yup..timing...its too advanced..turn ur dist. toward the front of the car 1mm at a time.when it stops take it down the road full throttle in any gear and if no more ticking...then good job. no big deal really, i thought id be a smart *** and advance my timing and boom. detonation. so ya, take care of that as soon as possible. u dont want a spark plug thru ur hood.
