Best RR graphics of all time.
All the talk about graphics and numbers got me thinking.
What cars stood out and you remember over time?
My Favorites.
1. Mario's JPS Championship F1 (1977 Lola?). Black with gold, great attention to detail. Even the sponsors decals were cut with the matching color. 25 years ago that was a big deal.
2. Tommy Kendalls All-sport Trans-Am Cobra in the late 1990s.
3. That Red Lobster sponsored IMSA GTP car in the early 1980s that has the huge lobster over the whole car.
(There were soooo many great looking GTP cars back in those days- for me that was the height of American Road Racing.)
Maybe I built too many model race cars as a kid and has carried over to my current car. IMHO, race cars are not 'show cars' but should look as professional as one can afford.
Note: FWIW Construction paper and elmers glue really don't cut it. IMHO.
( No Flame towards anyone)
Good Luck to all this year.

Photo's of 'Jacks car' up soon.

Best ever:
The mid 80's BMW DTM cars, sponsored by BMW parts. They made as if the car were transparent and you could see the parts inside. There were many iterations of these cars. Indeed, BMW have had many fantastic looking cars with their "art car" project as well.

I was always a sucker for the simple, but cool looking, red/white/blue color scheme Nissan used to use... http://www.pbase.com/image/4301371
What about that DTM Mercedes with the hood painted to look like the engine? I LOVE that one....

This is just a model, but you get the idea...

apperently Fastdetails.com got sick of linking to their pics and made the change mentioned in another thread. Sorry to the owner of that site for being part of his problem

The power of the car has an effect on me, gobs of unneccessary power. And I have always liked the Sunoco Blue/Yellow paint scheme, simple, yet recognizeable (ie Mark Donohue's Trans-Am Camaro).

Local racers-
Adam's H2 ITR has an outstanding graphic package.
The other 02 ECHC car that I thought was really nice was Catch-22's GSR.
Someone want to post a pic? I'm too lazy.

Might just me (and or my poor taste in automovia) but I thought the mid-eighties Celica GTS IMSA cars were about the coolest looking racecars.
How about.
The 'Sprit of 76' Greenwood Corvette. It had to be 14 feet wide in the rear. The car was covered in the US flag before it can fashionable.
Paul Newman's Datsun/ Nissans.
Ron Fellows 1999 Sunoco Camero.
Al Holbert's GTP 962.
I wish I had photos of the above, but I don't. However, I can still see them in my mind. IMO-that is what a well thought out graphics package can do.
I would argue that today NASCAR is the best in the world at making their car identifiable to the average fan. Someone could point of Tony Stuarts paint scheme/ car even if the car had no stickers.
