Default How to make stock cat work with aftermarket headers? (D-Series)

If you have a 92-95 cx, like me, or a 96+ dx/cx, how do you get around the queer catalytic converter when installing an aftermarket header? do you just have to get a new cat, or does someone make a header that is compatible with the stock cat? Any help would be great. Thanks.

you could run an aftermarket header but you would have to get a cat off of an ex or si, or better yet, a high flow unit. Along with that, I believe you would have to extend your o2 sensor(s).

Is there any way to reuse the stock cat?

stock pre-cat is kinda too bulky to fit underneath the car so your best bet would be to run a stock ex/si or aftermarket unit.

why do you want to keep your stock cat so bad??? You can get a high flow for $60 or get a random for about 180.

Just have a Muffler Shop run a stright pipe for you, you only need a cat, if u don't know how to pass smog.

take the stock cat and throw it at the next ricer you see . That is all it's good for, or you can sell it on ebay for $.50 and get an after market cat

thats a good idea, but you should be able to run a header for the ex w/ the ex cat.
