Default Funny stunna encounter.

During TKD practice the other day I stepped outside to grab something out of my car. As I did this semi riced out LS Integra pulled up into the parking lot and got out of his car. I could tell before he even turned his car off that he turned in to talk to me and for no other reason. I pretended to ignore him but it wasn't going to happen.

Stunna: "Hey man is that a real Type-R" Note now that the guy is standing right beside it looking in and can see everything.

Me: "Yep"

Stunna: " Are you sure? Pop the hood then"

Me: "No problem" I pop the hood and he looks around.

Stunna: "Damn it is one. So are you going all JDM?" Note again that my car is equipped with an AEM intake, DC header, Skunk cams, and STR cam gears. None of which I think are "JDM bling yo".

Me: "Why do you ask"

Stunna: "Uh because you've got a JDM motor"

Me: "No I don't"

Stunna: "Uh dude all ITR's are JDM"

Me: " Sorry dude this is a US spec motor, see how it says C5, the Japan models don't have such a number after the engine code, the US engines are also slightly different"

Stunna: "Yeah you ever heard of the B18C4?"

Me (confused): " I believe its the European model"

Stunna: "Well its just that I've never seen a real Type-R before but when I saw yours I knew it was real"

Me (thinking of how just 5 mins ago I was popping my hood for that reason): "Yeah if you know what your looking for there are alot of differences"

Stunna: "Yeah I knew it was real when I saw your rear strut tower brace"

Me: "Thats not stock"

Stunna: "Yeah I know"

He then tells me about a car show and his plans to make his into a real JDM ITR. "I'm even going to have the steering wheel on the right".

At this point he hands me a card and I go back inside.

another story that shows how JDM is mainstream to the max.

Good times though...he was lucky enough to meet someone nice as you to pop the hood...I would have popped it and slammed it down on his head...nosey ricer.

You are not being specific enough....all stunna encounters are funny. For the most part, they mean no harm, just very enthusiastic about ITR's and not very well informed.

I once got into an arguement with a stunna who swears my ITR is fake...those days are over, I am now the one who says it is fake.

Yes, people like this are everywhere. Its just something you have to deal with when you have an R. I cant think of many other cars that would bring up the question "is that a real..."

That's true. I do need to be more careful. Thankfully though I was a good 80-90mi from home.

I once got told that my ITR was fake because real type R's have "Integra type R" painted on their car and I had fake decals.

If I got a dime, for every time someone has told me "ITR's don't come with sun-roofs, so it can't be a real one".... I'd be a rich man!!

BTW: Bloody funny story.... I'm amazed you showed him so much patience, what a tosser?!
