help me out with my 88 CRX
One car that I have alway loved and respected was the crx and I finally got the car about 3 months ago
now that I have it I don't know what moter I should put in it B or D series if I go with a D series it will be less to put in the car and I could spend the rest of the money building the moter with about the same amount of money that I would spend on the B series and start off with more HP
I have a 88 DX so its Dual Point I know what I have to do to get the moter to work in the car. I would like to run in the 14 flat or better at the track
Thank you to anyone who can help me out with picking a moter or anything that will help me with my car

Its all personal preference.
on getting the rex, you will love the car.
One thing I will advise though, if you build up the d16, I assume thats what you would go to from the d15 if you are staying d series, then the reliability factor will go down some. The beauty of the b series motor is that it produces the horsepower stock. That means you can retain the famed honda reliability. Think about it this way...You build the single cam up to the maz, spend as much or more then the b16 to be just as fast, that is if you buy top line products. A year down the line you will want to go faster. You have already spent money on building the d. Now you could go and build some monster sohc, but you will hate the reliability factor and the hard driving. If you would have bought a b series motor you could now be upgrading it from stock to even faster. Its your choice, good luck with whatever you choose, and no matter what have fun with it.

I had this delimma last year. I like doing stuff to my car and if i stayed d series, I'd eventually go b series anyway, so i went straight for bseries. I just wanted to skip the bs. D series aren't bad though!! I kinda wish i woulda followed thru on the turbo mini me project. My LS vtec is getting too damn expensive. my advice, if you do decide to go b series....buy a complete swap.
i would go either way, lately i have worked on crx/civic's with b16's and zc's and also d16a6's, and all the cars were a ton of fun to drive. with the 89-91 si tranny, the zc and d1a6 are a ton of fun, while almost as fast as a b16. i have seen a zc with I/H/E run only .05 of a second behind a b16 with I/E.....i bet you couldnt feel the difference between the two cars....i know both guys driving, and they are both rather skilled drivers. if you go with a b18 of some sort, you would be goin a little faster though. personally, i love my zc, its easier to drive around town because of where the torque and power are-they are at RPM's that i actually use while driving around town. im not bashing either motor, but i love d-series/zc's. after my zc burns up though, i'm throwin in a b20 non-vtec with cams and all the bolt ons.....good times to come.
