Default with a B18B what RPM to switch at?

Sorry this isn't really tech related and I know this isn't a forum for racing, but I have heard for a B18B that you should drive it to redline(when racing) you should only take it to 6 grand maybe a bit higher because a B18 is a torue motor, is this true? Keep in mind only mod to this motor is intake, exhaust and clutch and lightened flywheel.
