Future swap options.
For the 5th gen accord owners, engine swap is very considerable, because their motors have high mileage and the H22A motors have low mileage, and time for a new motor and boom, H22A is the choice. However, what about for the 6th gen owners? I mean.....H22A is definitely worth it, but the 6th gens here have way less mileage than the 5th gens, therefore the 6th gen owners don't want the swap right now. Lets say its the year 2013 and my 6th gen has 300000 miles. I want a swap. I kno by then, H22A will be either extinct, or available ones will have a million miles on them. What will be an available swap for me then?? It definitely isnt going to be the K series engines, because their cranks rotate in opposite direction than the H or the F series engines. Are the future swaps for 6th gen hopeless or will there be a solution? Thanks.
i dont think it'll be hopeless. yes, h22a's will probably be beat-up, but there will always be the choice to restore these engines. there will always be knowledgeable machine shops and engine builders around. its the same as muscle car guys who have their engines from the 50's-60's restored to cherry. plus who's to say that honda wont come out with new motors suitable for the swap in the future.
I am not too worry about h22 going bye bye..
I have a 6th gen myself and yeah, it was one of my all time question too...
but so many things can happen in no time..
prolly in 2013 swap in CA is outlawed due to emission issue or other little sh_ts..

My guess would be that more R&D will go into the J30, and 6speed J32 type s engines, and this swap will become more popular, especially since as our collective expertise will keep on growing, the challenge will become attractive and achievable.
Odds are I'm going to have my car for a while. Damn high insurance rates. So when my motor goes, an H22A will take its place. But if something better than the H22A comes out, that will go in.
