I had a JDM front end installed at the end of the summer last year.. It went into storage 2 weeks after I got it back...So its really new... I went today to start her up and charge up my battery( I live in Toronto, so its been really cold).. When I pull the lever to pop the hood it is tight and won't budge, it feels like it is going to snap.. I sprayed on ez-nut rust lub, wd-40 and used a hair dryer for about 25 mins.. Has anyone had problems like this...Please help

I phoned the body shop, he says that it is probably the release wire is too long and is getting jammed..they will have to use one from a civic hatch...does this sound right??

 

No, it sounds like the body shop has no idea what they are doing.

How many JDM front ends have they installed before?

 

Which body shop did the install for you (I live in Toronto as well), and I am getting my front end installed. now. Did you use the 90-93 Integra cable hood latch release cable?

 

I went to Technik Autoworks in Thornhill... They used the stock usdm cable..

 

i have a 94 integra with jdm conversion, what hood latch would i use. some one hit my front end and damaged my latch, can i use usdm latch or is this latch off of jdm?

 

just have someone pull the hood while you pull the latch, thats the problem i'm having with my car. Its the popper wont go. You need to replace the cable line its seized. Otherwise its gonna be a pain, mainly from rust.

 

if you take your usdm hood latch and turn it around filp it you can use it on a jdm conversion and as far as the latch cable 90-93 integra or 94-97 accord cable will work.

 

Nope, you cant turn it sideways, its not long enough. Get a mid 90's 2dr accord hood latch. Its perfect size
