anyone know the requirements that will let you pass the smog test? espicially smog equipments In california. heard pipings must be smaller then 2.5....thanks

 

are u going to a typical mom and pop auto center with a smog station.. or a TEST ONLY center or a referee? they all have different requirements in a way a small mom and pop auto center smog test consists of a sniffer test. also to check the OBD equipment via Cable link from under the dash.. if your car is OBD-1 make sure it's OBD-1 still or you fail(same thing for OBD-2) if you do not you will fail based on the Cable uplink being incapable of communicating with your ECU...the smaller places usually don't do a visual.. now test only and referee stations are stricter and even though you may pass the sniffer test they do a THROUGH VISUAL inspection to insure you meet all California Smog regulations.. good luck
