How could it cost $250 to add eight wires to an exising harness? Am I missing something here? Wires and ECU pins connectors cant cost more than $10.00.

It's called supply and demand,
they charge $250 because some people are willing to pay $250

If you dont buy them directly from Hasport, you can get a price comparable to the other companys.

The "supply & demand" comment is pretty much the reality.

From what I've seen, most guys that work on cars seem to be afraid of electrical stuff. It's not that complex though and fairly easy to learn if you are willing to take the time.

To do a loom "conversion" correctly, you should have the factory wiring diagram for both vehicles, and a lot of people don't want to spend the money. In my mind, manuals are one of the best investment you can make!

In the defense of Hasport (and Place Racing), is it worth your time to figure it out, do the conversion, and then have to trouble shoot it if there is a problem. What is your time worth?

I sure wouldn't blame Hasport in particular due to the fact that they spend a lot of time with magazines like Honda Tuning putting the information out there, should you want to do it your self!!!!!

I'm planning on doing a B18c installation in my 89 SI and will probably just pay to have Place Racing do the loom conversion. It's just not worth my time to figure it out and would rather spend the time doing other things.
