Potential of H22 Accords...
I'm going over my options for buying a car and H22 Accord came up (5th gen). Owners of 5g H22s: How do you like it? Are you happy with the performance? Do you think it has the potential to be a daily driven car with great power and reliability? Just wondering. Thanks guys
I got a h22 accord, runs a 14.5@95mph all motor with just header, somewhat of a custom exhaust and the head ported. I beat the **** out of it everyday, sometimes it breaks but nothing I can't fix within a couple hours to get me back on the road. If I was easier on it, it prolly wouldn't break as often but I can't resist ripping through the gears.

it kicks *** especially when your a sleeper. when you pop the hood either people are too dumb to know what it is or the ones that do you know love it.

if this was my only mod, i would be terribly happy, they best thing that ever went into an accord so easily. best decesion i ever made
It is so nice to pull up to some of the more expensive cars and beat them with a 4 door family car. H22 was the best decision I could have made!!
My opinion may not count, bc I have a 4th gen, but the H22 kicks a$$! I love this motor! The only thing I recommend doing is getting cams and dyno tuning it with a vafc. Those, IMO are the two best things to help me out. My car drives so nice and I drive it everyday, beat on it, everything. I HIGHLY reccomend doing the swap. No peer pressure or anything, but, you SHOULD do it. lol
I'm coming from the perspective of an ex accord owner. For the accord to be a fast car, this swap is almost a must. The tuning potential of these motors is unlimited. Just to show you what can be done, look at the older ASccord Touring cars from the BTCC and the JGTC. They used a H22, although it was destroked to a 2.0 liter, but in any case, they were getting over 300 naturally aspirated horses out of them. Pretty nice if you ask me. Also, if sleepers are your thing, the Accord with this swap will be the ultimate deception tool. Kinda makes me miss my Accord..... everyone expects Integras to be fast

At the very top is a GC8 Impreza 2.5RS, but that would be much more expensive...I could have an H22 5g for the price of a 2.5. Hmmmm... The sexiness of the h22, combined with the sleepiness of a 4door "family" car is hard to beat.

That is true. With $20,000 neons pulling low 14's. Alot of the newer cars coming out today are affordable and a pulling pretty good times. This mod would definetly have caught some of the more expensive cars off guard a couple years ago, but today it still catches some unsuspecting opponents off guard with ease.
i love mine..
even will have a stock h22 short block for sale soon. bout a month 450
i am having my spare build so this one will be sold
theres a h22 head in the classifed for 300
just think 750 for the h22 swap

I've heard a rumor some where and I don't know if it's true or not, that the 1998 USDM EJ25 could handle in the range of like ~20 psi on stock internals because of there really low compression. do you know anymore about that or am I just talking outta my ***.
Man GC8's own my soul

Anyways, yeah, all I've heard is good things about H22 accords.... and that is probably what I'll end up doing. I don't want to be another person with a Civic (no offense to Civics intended) but yeah, like the saying goes, "everyone and their moms have a modded civic" (thats not it exactly, but u get the point)
I would swap to a H22A if I could. The thing is that my motor is just too new. Not even 50k miles on it. Too bad no superchargers are available for the I4. Not enough compression. Turbo is definitely an option for me, though.
just a t3/t4 away. just need the darn turbo
and ill even have a built bottem end
OH MY

Oh yeah...If money is real bad, 4g Accord it is... Follow the path of 2point6 (big ****** props to him and his new 2.44L H22)

My H22A should be here next week. I just ordered it. I believe 2000Accord5spd is working on a fully built turboed H22a in his Accord. It is one awesome project.
