How to tell if I have Goodridge Brake lines? Please help.
Hey guys, I posted a couple days ago about getting a cheap strut bar from a local shop when I asked for Neuspeed strut bar, now I am considered the ss brake lines I had them install aren't Goodridge. Is there a part number anywhere on them or any way I can tell? This could turn in to a law suit if they installed some cheap *** lines that aren't DOT legal. Thanks so much.
Just found out through some searching they are Techna-fit brake lines. Now I heard that the owner of Techna-fit came from goodridge and the lines are D.O.T. legal, but how good is the quality? Also how much should it cost to install brake lines? I asked for Goodridge lines and they said they would be $200 installed, but if I decide to keep the Techna-fits I am going to want some money back. I have a 95 EX with ABS just so you all know.
check for the prices online, I'm sure the goodridge lines cost more. And use that for consideration. Check if you have 6 lines installed (ABS version), and that they didnt short you w/ 4 lines.
you really need a new shop to goto

Goodridge lines are pretty good quality and you should be able to tell what they are by checking at the large 6-sided flat hexagonal joints. On the face of some of the joints should say "goodridge"....at least that's what I've seen.
Keep in mind that meeting DOT approval isn't necessarily a quality stamp. Earl's ss lines (very good) or AeroQuip ss lines (the best) are niether D.O.T. approved or street legal. DOT approval is a marketing ploy for those companies whove decided to enter the non-race retail markets.
HOWEVER...if this company said they would install "X" lines and they installed "Y"...then I'd have a problem. Goodridge is good stuff, but fraudulent behavior is bad....I'd demand at least 25% of your money back.
