Default Might be out before I even started

Lately I've been thinking a lot about my civic maybe because I'm getting closer and closer to swap time. I had decided to go with the b18b and then in a year put a greddy turbo on it. In my 96 cx that should be plenty fast for me. Now though I've been thinking about a BMW either a 328 or a M3. These cars are in the 15k to 20k range now for a 97 and up with only 40k miles on them. I've been reading and the thought of having a inline six with a 5 speed sounds really good. The M3 even has 240 hp and great handling plus all those wonderfull power options ( windows, lock, and a sunroof, man I miss those things). I even called an insurance company and they quoted me 1304 for six months with the 328 and 1413 for the M3 for six months. The quote for my civic was 819 and these are a 21 year old kid. I think the difference between the the honda and the bimmers is high but for what you are getting it makes up for it. I've also read though they aren't as reliable as a honda ( what is?) but for sport sedans they are one of the best. What do you guys think? Should I drop the civic project before it really starts and do the bimmer?

what it comes down to, basically is its your decision. do whatever you want. don't let people tell you otherwise.

when my cousin was looking for used m3's around that year, it was around 28000, for a 97, before he finally settle on a 2001 cl type s. for 32000. insurance for the bimmer is gonna be alot more than your civic hatch, you should call the insurance and get a quote before you decide, so to see if you can afford the insurance payments or not. good luck.

cx could be your project car,
m3 could be your cruising car. u have to be driving around all the time so why not leave the lil eg on stands for weeks at a time?

I would never drive my hatch if I had one of my friend's M3's. It's in a completely different league.

I say M3 Schintzered out.

Buying a used M3: affordable

Maintaining a used M3: not so affordable.

If you have the money, definately M3.

well you know the interest rates right now are so low it seems a really good time to buy one. I live with my parents and don't have any debt. I know upkeep on a bmw would be more then a honda but this car is considered to be the best. Plus the idea of having 240 hp NA instead of 230 hp turbo seems great too. Its just very strange cause it seems I've grown very attached to my hatch.

BMW's are AWESOME cars! But you know what BMW stands for?

Bring
Money
With-ya!

Repairs are few and far between, but when it's time to fix anything, "bend over please"! Good luck with whatever you decide!
