USDM/JDM ITR 5 lug Conversion and D series motor....can it be done?
I have a 1992 Si and I am going to be getting a 5 lug, hopefully soon. I have my stock motor and do plan on getting a swap in the distant future. I would prefer a USDM 5 lug but I may have to buy a JDM one. Will my stock USDM D series axels be compatible with a USDM ITR 5 lug? Anyone know how big the spline on the axels is? If its 32 mm it should be compatible right? If I get JDM D series axels would it work with a JDM 5 lug? 36 mm and 36 mm? TIA.

yes they will work without a problem.
JDM 98+ SpecR ITR uses a 36mm outer joints (they can be swapped onto the d-series axles - as in JDM DOHC ZC only - not the usual uneqal lenght shafts found in SOHC) EDIT
JDM CTR is identical to USDM ITR and works without a problem as well

Ok thanks...but how could they both work because the two you just said would BOTH work have different hub sizes, JDM ITR is 36 mm, JDM CTR (USDM ITR) is 32 mm, how could the both work? I'm confused.
EDIT: I didn't mean to sound rude in this post, I'm just kind of frustrated from all the diff. answers I've gotten to this Q.

From what he is saying and what I would assume, you could take your d series axle apart and swap on the 5 lug outer piece. I know a d series axxle will swap into a GSR or LS hub, not sure on a type R though.

Ok so if I get a USDM 5 lug or CTR 5 lug (both 32 mm) the conversion would be plug and play and my USDM D series axels will plug right into the hub. If I get a JDM ITR swap I need to also get JDM ITR axels and take aport both my axels and the JDM ITR axels and put the ITR 36 mm outer piece on my D series axel. Is that correct?
Is there any difference between the CTR and ITR 5 lug conversions other than the hub sizes?
Anyone know where I can find a CTR 5 lug conversion or a USDM ITR 5 lug? I have only been able to locate JDM 5 lugs.
Thanks,
Jake

So I can't swap out the part of my USDM axel that goes into the hub for a 36 mm one...period?
CTR or USDM 5lug will work
*JDM ITR 5lug will not work

USDM ITR 5lug 32mm= Dseries hub axle size
JDM ITR 5lug 36mm= no can do
period

Thank you very much, that cleared up everything.
