NEED HELP: Rays Lug Nut Owners!
Ok, yes I will admit it, I am a dumbass. Unfortunately for us 5 Lug people we HAVE to use the keyed lug nuts rays sells.
I went to a track event this weekend and changed my wheels/tires. I somehow after that misplaced the lug nut key.
Here is the kicker. I called Mackin and the ID to get a new key is . . . . ON THE F'n KEY!
Ok. so there are 5 possible Keys according to Mackin. I need anyone willing to lend me their Key for a couple of days to tell me what the ID# on your key is and if you would be willing to ship it to me. We have all but destroyed one lugnut trying to get them off and I must say the shop I was at gives rays kudos for theft prevention.
Also, WRITE DOWN YOUR KEY ID#!!!

Sorry bro ;(
they should do it for free.
.....if you're coming down this weekend with sakai and company, you can try my rays key out. AFAIK, they all have the same key... worked for william (typer76)...
All right Trey, you Im'ed me for an answer so here it is. Get an impact socket, a little smaller the the lug(we have 3/4"), then put locktight in the socket. smack the socket on with a hammer. put the gun up to the socket and insert. use half throttle on the gun till it comes off. stop the lug right before it pops off and remove the gun, now smack the socket with a hammer lightly on each side till it comes off. Bamn!!! Lock Socket comes off!!!
Don't ask how I know this, I don't condone using these tools in other than there recommended propose.

Trying to replace your track wheels with your streets only to discover the lock key is missing is not a fun feeling...

I'm pretty surprised you guys use wheellocks on the track. but then, I don't use them on the street either. When I did use them on the street I always used different lugnuts on the track..

so I was able to get my wheels off. But really, its more of a pain to deal with the locks. I have a feeling if somone really wants my wheels, they will just take the entire car.

OK, Mr. 16 lugs. If I didn't have to use them I wouldn't have. I was told buy the doofus at Mackin that these were race only lug nuts and that he wasn't sure how to help me since this awas a race car. He shut up real quick when I asked what dumb *** race team woudl lock lugnuts on. Crazy riceboys jumping the pit wall!
