Illuminas are they shitty?
I don't see a lot of people talking about Illuminas and how they run them in their setup.
It's either 1. they're shitty, or 2. they just cost too much for the average Joe.
Well, I got lucky and got a set for $4.00, and this is brand spanking new.
What can I expect from these along with Skunk2 coil overs?

I honestly paid $4.00 for them in US money.
I didn't steal them or anything.
I just had $500.00 in gift certificates and shipping was $4.00.
So are they any good or what?

I hear some people talking bad about Tokico's. I had them on my old CRX, and I have them on my hatch now, and I love them with Skunk2's, great ride, never had a problem with them.

I've had the blues on my car with Skunk2 Coilovers and they are riding nice and stiff! I think the reason is because the front shocks are blown. Before that they where a smooth ride, just dont plan on dropping the car that low with the blues since they wont really handle the stiffer spring rate the coilover with a low drop.

Illuminas IMO arent worth it - why spend that much money when you can fix/revalve/shorten them EVER. I'd spend it on Koni if i had my money back...

Now I'm runnin teg rate skunks and illuminas on my eg but I haven't had a chance to test drive it the setup yet. I bet its going to be just pretty stiff like showspeed.com said.
I had em paired up with old skunkworks and loved them. I got them cheap though. IMO if I was buying new Id rather just pay more and get koni yellows
I have Illuminas on my auto-x hatch. GC coilovers (400lb front/550lb rear).
They do fine, although if I knew then what I know now I would have gotten Koni's.
I dont like the adjustment on the Illumina's. The adjustment hardware is plastic, becomes brittle and breaks! Tokico did send me new hardware for free though.
I prefer the more infinite type adjustment on the Koni's. Since you got them for $4, I would not complain at all!!!

I don't have any experience with KYB AGX on Hondas (I had them on my 99 Sentra) and didn't really care for them (then again, a Sentra has zero suspension travel to begin with). The adjuster on the front struts broke, too. How do Illuminas compare to AGXs?
I've always heard AGXs aren't that good but I've never had them so I can't say. My buddy put them on his accord with Skunk2 adj springs but I haven't had a chance to ride in it yet. Although, my cousins has them on his Geo Storm with Intrax springs. It rides like crap and sounds noisy. They don't seem to live up to the expections of other brands.
I love my Illuminas.. I've had them for about 4 years and have had my car dropped 3" and up to 1", back down to 2".. they still feel and handle great... I love the adjustabililty... I usually ride around set at 1 or 2.. then when I go to the track I turn them up to 5 usually... feels solid.. dope struts.
peaces.
peaces.
I got a set last week and installed them on stock springs. Konis were not in the budget. So far, so good on the street. Ride is comfortable to me on settings 2 or 3 even over manhole covers, railroad tracks, etc. The Turn-in is obviously improved and nose-dive under braking is considerably reduced. acid test is this weekend, when I have an Evolution Phase 1 school, Solo 2 practice, and Solo 2 championship on the schedule.
