That's fine, if it gets up over 800 then you need to start worrying..........

Mine's about 6-700 cruising, ~300 at idle.

Mine will max out at exactly 700 degrees Celsius under full throttle.

Yep, I worried when mine used to almost reach 900c thats when I got rid of the fmu and got the safc hooked up with nice fat 440ccs :D

My probe is mounted in the DP flange where it meets the turbo... it actually sits in a hole in the turbine MEANT for a internal wastegate which isen't there (t3/t4e hybrid turbonetics turbine, garret compressor). Works fine for me.

I usually see 6-700 cruising at 80mph on the highway sometimes a during boost it climbs to 800, but usually not passed that, 4th gear (last gear in my auto) pulls will make the temps rise, however at the track full throttle it doesn't even get to 800c

Anyone else ever had a problem witht he GReddy EGT jumping around erratically, almost like a bad connection? I've retraced all the wires, every thing seems fine, but I'm 90% certain I'm just going to ditch the EGT if I can't figure this out soon.

When my GReddy oil pressure gauge was jumping around a lot, it turned out that one of the plugs that connects to the peak/hold box was loose.

Hey Sir Kid, mine is doing that right now, jumping around sporadically. I tracked it down when I got out of the car and readjusted the connection plug for the 15" probe/wire in the engine bay. I think the plug is just bad and not connecting well. I am going to cut that plug off and put on male/female bullet connectors on the wires.

Mine never got over 810C at cruising at high speed (like doing 80mph going up a big hill @ 5-6psi boost 1/2 throttle). My WOT was around 720-740C.

My DSM friends tune to 850-900C at WOT...their cars just run good up there. But in a honda id keep it a little richer/cooler at 750C.

The probes do go bad after time. Im not sure of their life..but most people say around a year of use they need to be replaced.

I recommend getting a TRE probe as they are very cheap, $40, and are much faster responding then the greddy probes.

If your EGT is new and its doing that...id give greddy a call.

Cool. Thanks for the help guys.

I've only USED the EGT probe for about 4 months of driving over the last 3 years that it's been installed. I'll buy a new probe and see what happens.

Is it true the EGT gauge reads higher if the probe is installed on the downpipe because the turbo heats up the air even more.
