When ever I spray paint metal I use barake and parts cleaner 1st to clean it. It does a great job and dries immedately on contact. The paint sticks and leaves no "fish eyes."

its not sticking because maybe the surface is too smooth, hit it with some rough sand paper and you wana get it nice and rough, then hit it with a base coat so it sticks. I wouldnt use any chemicals on the metal before hand if the surface area is clean, maybe some soap at first to remove any grease, but i wouldnt use anything with too many chemicals in it, some contain oils that will repel the paint.

when you paint metal you MUST primer the surface, otherwise the paint will not stick as you have discovered.
