Default Does the ECU have anything to do with how the AUTO tranny will shift?

well i'm trying to install a 2001 f23a1 into my 1993 accord. It's auto!
Myquestion is this:
*what makes the tranny shift the way it does(pressure, ecu readings, RPM reading?)

If i use the F23a1 with matching AUTO tranny + wired up to an OBD1 94-95 ex auto ecu will it be ok? or will the tranny shift incorrectly due to gearing, ecu not matching with tranny, ect.....

Help me out.

ok from what i know
obd1 trannys have both a TCU *tranny control unit* and and ECU
the tcu will control the transmission and have it shif at its points

the obd2 trannys have the ecu and tcu built into one unit. so the tranny isnt running off its own computer but both the car and tranny off the same

not sure if this is what you want

excellent info..

*so would it be ok to use the 94-95 ex vtec accord ECU with a 2001 f23a1 & matching tranny?

*is there any differance in gearing from 2001 and the 94-95 auto trannys?

it'll be ok. just make sure you get the wiring right.
i dont know the specific gearing, but there not that much different, so you'll be ok.

yeah I'm 98% sure of the wiring but i just don't want the car to drive like it has a torque converter or somthing.. heheh

it does have a torque converter. but anyway, the shift points may be different but i dont think you'll have a problem what-so-ever.
