Friend of mine blew his 00 EX and we found a 98 EX for sale. I was wondering if it would be a straight swap or would I have to change some parts on the 98 to make it work? Thanks.

the 98 is obd2v1, while the 00 is obd2v2. you'll need the 98 ecu or you'll get a cel.

 

its not like its a different engine swap, its the exact same engine going in. it doesnt matter.

 

In the US it would, of course thats only if they have some mind reading tech that can tell its an older engine. Technically, any engine swap needs to be an engine from that cars year or Newer. Not that anyone would probably notice that swap though.

 

change the oil and let it go its all the same ive done a bunch of awaps like that it a one!!!!! plug and play baby have fun
