impact screwdriver?... what is it and where can i get it?
They used to be all over the place, but I don't see them around as much as I used to. I have seen one at my local Home Depot recently, which surprised me.
It's a screwdriver that you hit the back of. When you hit it, it turns slightly. It's used to get out really tough screws. You can also use a screw extractor. Screw extractors are more common and easier to find.
You might be able to find one at tool and equiipment rental places.

i saw them at like ACE hardware and stuff too( dont know if you have that) but sear and home depot and lowes should have them... its like a screwdriver, but you hammer on the end of it.. and at the same time it turns. so that you wont strip the screws out... i assume your changing brake rotors cause this is where most people use these
what i did to not buy one was buy a #2 philips bit and but it in a quarter inch socket and attack that to a air power impact gun. works great!

same idea as an "impact wrench" or "impact driver". When you hit it with a hammer the handle slides down towards the screw, which cuases the bit to turn just the slightest bit, but with mad torque
If you need that for your brakes I have one of em'. Give me a pm and we will see what we can do about getting those installed!!!
