Why use 92 (half wide) radiator?
Place Racing (and others) recommend using the 92 radiator when doing a B18 conversion in a 4G Civic.
The normal reason given for doing this is that it's a dual core radiator and will work better.
What I don't understand is that it's only half the width of the (single core) stock radiator that is in my 89 SI. When compairing the two radiators, they would both end up having the same amount of core area!!
The original one would flow air better. More frontal area plus there are two fans.
The second row of cores in the 92 would see the air that has already been heated by the first (front) row.
The only advantage that I can see to the half wide 92 radiator would be to clear a turbo if you had one (I don't, and don't plan on ever getting one).
Then there is the question as to if you should block off the area vacated by the old radiator (in order to force the air through the 92 radiator). If I was to do this, it would block off half of the a/c cooling core!
So, what am I missing??

lotta people wanna run jdm 4-1 headers or turbos and it does open up more room on that side for clearance. honda radiators are very efficient and will get the job done no matter what.
