Any opinions on MOMO Seats?
I have been looking for entry level seats and it looks like the START is a nice seat. However their mounting brackets are very expensive @ $100 for Steel! Any opnions appreciated!
i have the rookie.. aka start
I dont like it.. I will probably replace it soon!~
It doesnt support me well in the kidney area and there is nothing supporting the bottom of my legs like the sparco seats...
Spend more $$ on the seat and make your own bracket!

I don't have any personal experience with Momo seats, but a shop told me that w/ the Momo you can't replace the seat cover/padding if it ever rips (I guess you might be able to take it to a upholstery shop). Someone correct me if that was incorrect info. The Sparco seats allow you to take off the covers to wash or change.
If you are considering a low budget seat, I'd also check http://www.ompusa.com. They have the ECO on sale this week for under $190 . It's takes 4 point harness only. Looks as good as the MOMO or Sparco ently level.

I had a Momo Rookie in my old 240SX, which is basically the same as the Start seat. Overall I liked it, and would rate it as a good entry level seat, but it had minimal padding and therefore I wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver.
You may also be interested in something from Corbeau... http://www.soloracer.com/raceseats.html. The Forza is a good entry level seat. I've sold a lot of them and have yet to have any complaints. Corbeau also makes brackets/sliders for the GS-R and they are about $80 each.

i actually find my start/rookie seat very comfortable despite the minimal padding. seems to fit pretty well, the lower back is arched just right and used it for daily driving on harsh springs and long trips even. never felt uncomfortable. just my own opinion i guess.
Based on the "if you can't say something nice" theory here's my opinion on momo's seats ".....................................".
I'd go cobra or even sparco before momo.

Although it was a bit more, I much prefer my Momo Cup over my Sparco Ultras. Now getting up towards the high end seats I am not well versed but in that 500ish and down range, you'd have to do a lot of convincin' for me to go with something other than the Cup.

I use a Momo Rookie in my RX-7. No problems or complaints. My backets are custom made - cost a bit more, but gets the seat real low.
how tight is the start? Im 6'3" 200lbs.
The EVO fits me snug, but judging by the measurement specs, the Start is smaller than the EVO.
Anyone going to be at carguys this weekend with one?
edit: or FATT march 7, or VIR march 29,30

I have the Start in my car, and mounted on the sparco sliders.. It was very easy to mount, and extremely low in the car.. (the seat is actually molded to work w/ the sliders).. seat isn't to comfy, I wouldn't recomend it for a daily driver, but I can't say my *** hurt sitting in the car for 1.4 hours during the enduro.. Once I angle the seat back more, it will be more comfy..
And there is definite lack of kidney/leg support.. I am pretty sure I will just buy some sparco velcro add in supports..

When i sat in corey's car the start was very tight around the hips and knees, and didnt offer too much later support in the kidney area. I'm 5'8" with a 36" waist.....
I would not buy one for a street driven car. The evo and ultra look to have more generous hip/leg room, and if the Ultra works out next time I go up to OG i'm purchasing a pair of those.
Also - cheap seat mounting link (thanks owen!) https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=362733

I have a pair of Momo T-Frames in my crx. I really like them and they have great lateral support. I paid less than $500 for both including tax. The brackets were a bit pricy. I think about $90 each or so.
I got them at http://www.upgrademotoring.com
