Default Will sensors for Viper work in my Excalibur alarm?

This installer told me he could hook me up with a proximity sensor from Viper for $40. Are sensors interchangeable?

As long as they are both made from DEI, the alarm and the shokc sensor, there should be no problem.

even if they aren't the same, most parts will work with each other. We've even worked a DEI shock sensor in to work with a factory 2001 VW Golf alarm system.
