Default Turbo F22B2

I have a turbo and a turbo header but where is the best place to mount the sidemount intercoolers? will i have to cut anything out of the fender or could i put it somewhere in front of the radiator or on the side of it behind the turn signal? Also what else do i need for this custom job to have the turbo pushing 6-7 psi safely?

thanks

what about just one front mount intercooler..? i'm sure you could find several junkyard intercoolers for cheap... it sounds easier and would get more cooler air i think... if you have a turbo and a header/manifold, you'll need a downpipe, intercooler piping, oil line kit, some kind of fuel management, and some itty bitty parts here and there like gaskets, clamps, etc... i think that's it...

I would think about a cheap fmic as opposed to the side mount. You can pick up a starion/ conquest unit for 75-100 all day long of internet classifieds.

Why are you using a side mount idea. Are you adapting a dsm setup... kinda sounds like it.

Fyi you might wanna call the 'turbo header' a exhaust manifold to avoid un-ness. flaming from critics.

Downpipe and charge piping are needed. You also have to get some oil lines/ fittings, tap the pan for the return (research for correct placement), and hookup somekind of feed line (usually people put a tee fitting in back on the block were hte pressure sender is and some other places but you need a good feed!).

You need some kinda of fuel enrichment to compensate for the boosting. I would think about a good fuel pump, bigger cc injectors, fuel pressure reg, and an s-afc controller. (some will tell you to use a fmu and what not but I dont like them)

You prob. want a blowoff of some type to avoid ruining your compressor quickly. Asuming it is internal wastegate you should not be needing anything there, otherwise a ext. wastegate is ness. if the turbo does not have one.

Misc. gaksets and bolts are goona be needed no doubt... and some good hose clamps.

A turbo timer is good idea and so is a manual boost controller (they are not much good at about 10-12+ psi, if you not changing the boost from what the wastegate is set at... you dont need it). Also some kind of gauge for monitoring boost is a must... oil pressure gauge is a plus too.

Sure I missed some odds and ends but I am startig to loose my focus anyways.
