Good bye Inline Four.... Super Autobacs is moving in down the street. They are building it on Garden Grove and Beach Blvd, where the old edwards theatre used to be. Its gonna be huge!

This has been rumored for some time. Damn--how great will it be to have a JDM superstore on our soil?! It sucks for the little guys, but it'll be nice to get the good stuff easily.
Let's see one come to the East Coast now

i've heard about this a long time ago as well. are they actually building a new structure at that particular location you're talking about? does it say something like 'superautobacs coming soon' or something?
this is gonna be great for the economy around here... especially since there are many unemployed who cannot even find a job flipping burgers...
i already have some good hook-ups with some small shops and i doubt superautobacs will be cheaper, but it'll be cool to check out.

****'s not going to be cheap...just instock.
I wont be like Super Autobacs in Japan either. Guaranteed they will stock a ton of USDM ****. It will just be a 'Carparts Walmart'. The reason that the Super Autobacs in Japan is full of JDM ****, is because it's in Japan.

It's not hard to get parts from Japan.
The problem is most people cannot afford to buy the parts they want.
Wow. Now maybe finally I will be able to buy parts in stock instead of waiting for 16 months for wheels that never come. Or a quarter of a year for a JDM conversion. And hopefully Autobacs will have good accounting and strict policies so that they won't forget your order, make you wait 3 weeks for a quote, deliver incomplete kits, or hold your money more than 30 days, in violation of interstate trade laws. Sayonara small vendors, and good riddance. I hope.
I think that it could go either way.
I think that it could have a positive impact on the scene that we are into. I think that having an outlet like Super Autobacs will make a lot of hard to find parts more accessible. At the same time, I think that a lot of smaller retailers who sell general JDM parts will be hurt by this a lot. On the flipside, those retailers who sell hard to find and very elite parts should be impacted in a positive manner as this will hopefully inspire more of the JDM trend and create more of a demand for those hard to find parts.
I am quite sure that the most negative impact will be the mainstream of the JDM trend, meaning that every lowered (intonation "rice") integra will be sporting spoon and toda stickers and running spoon replicas. The way that we like to do things, even if they are purly performance minded, is no longer going to be something only recognized by the like minded. Cops will start to look out more for people with black wheels more subtle body changes. I am afraid that with the mainstreaming of the whole JDM trend, many of the things we now appreciate will be "ricer heaven" for the year to come.

N who hopes that this negative side effect will be mild, whereas the postive will be great. We can all hope can't we.

i think with the sequel to the fast and the furious, and carshows still going strong
with show cars...cops will still notice/target "ricer" cars over JDM or performance
oriented street cars.

however, i could be wrong and they could have had someone do research over here and they may have gotten info that says APC products sell the best... which would just provide us all with another Pep Boys.
- Huy, hoping I am not wrong about Super Autobacs USA.
Just like in Japan, I would assume the prices are going to be exorbitant! The majority of the performance products they sell are from WORKS Tuning companies like STI, Ralliart, Mazdaspeed, Nismo, and Mugen. The rest of the products are also big name companies. I really wonder what they are going to sell cuz they will only cater to a niche market if they only sold those brands.
yup small retail shops will be having a HARD TIME!!!
sad....
