Installed: "Civic Type-R" trunk brace
I found it sold locally for pretty cheap ($25), what was obviously a knock off w/ a ctr sticker, but it bolts up great to the teg. In the end, I'd still recommend a DIY over this (particularly if you have drills etc, which i dont)
Came w/ the proper sized bolts, 2 useless nuts and some spacers. As you can see above its not completely hollow, w/ some reinforcement inside.
The BAD thing was, note the ends of the bar and weakspot where it bolts up. Why they did this.. well I guess you get what you pay for.
The only counterargument I can see to this is the design of the ITR trunk brace, where the crimped ends would also introduce points of weaknesses that would allow flexing perpendicular to its flattened spots. Then it again, it all depends on what type of flexing is typically seen.

Damn that pretty decent for 25 but yea i agree why the hell they would cut it so thin at the mountin points is beyond me... is it made of steel or aluminum?? But with the spacer,i think it'll be a little bit better.
