Fuel tank problems!! please help ASAP!
I'm pulling the tank out of my 88 Civic DX, and I'm going to switch it with my 89 CRX Si one (it has a holley pump in it and no gas, which is easier than draining the fuel and switching the pump into the 88 tank) and I ran into a few problems:
1. When I was pulling off the fuel return line, it seems that the metal piece that the line attaches to pulled down a little bit, and fuel leaked from the TOP of the metal piece, rather than from where I was pulling the hose off. How do I fix this leak??? Should I see if I can put some RTV silicone around it? Would that seal it?
2. The Civic wiring is slightly different than the CRX. The plug for the wiring is shaped differently, so I can't plug in my CRX tank into my Civic harness. The Civic also has a funny ground wire that goes to the filler neck bolts. Can I just switch the plugs; and are all the wires the same?
Please help!

I cannot help you with the leaking connection, I say silicone is a bad idea since it cannot withstand high pressure for long periods of time, besides I am almost sure gasoline will hurt silicone over time.
About the wiring, the colors are the same, the difference is the ground wire in the CRX goes into the harness and it's grounded somehwre else. On the Civic the ground wire is grounded at the inspection cover and does not go into the plug.
I did the exact same thing you are doing on a friend's car, I used the wires that were in the car, and wired it that way.

Yeah, I can't really get the tube off because it is attached to the car body, so i think I'll try using a hose clamp or a zap strap or something to squeeze it shut.
