SRS Light on Dash
I have a 95 Honda Accord EX. I changed my fuel filter (which was hard as hell). After I started the car, the SRS light came on. Does anyone know what connection must have gotten disconnected around that area?
sorry to spill u bad new i think...mine is a 1995 honda accord LX...and my SRS light is on too..but it was b/c i lowered my car. i found out a couple weeks ago that i cannot turn it off (friend from honda says) the airbags on my car has gone bad since the light is on...replacement is like $700..im not doing it
That makes no sense that light wasn't on before I changed the fuel filter. It took me 20 minute to change the filter after I started the car back up the SRS light stayed on. I don't think it is not coincedence that the SRS light came on after I change the fuel filter. I know it has to be a plug or a wire I disconnected or something.

Get a paper clip.
Go up in the dash panels above your hood release and pull the yellow plug on the wall that's plugged into a "dummy plug" (i.e. no wires coming from the plug). The harness you're pulling should have two grey wires going into it.
Search the net for the "6 second, 4 second, 4 second, 2 blink..." directions on resetting the SRS light. I think it's something like:
1. connect the paper clip to the 2 wire plug (to short it).
2. turn the key to the "on" position (not the first "acc" click and do not start the car on the third click).
3. when the SRS light turns off in SIX (6) seconds, remove the paper clip withing FOUR (4) seconds.
4. from the step above, the light will turn off. again, within FOUR (4) seconds, re-insert the paper clip.
5. from the step above, the lighrt will turn back on. remove the paper clip within FOUR (4) seconds.
6. I believe this is when the light blinks twice. Turn off the ignition for like 10 seconds or something. then turn it on and your SRS light will come on for about 6 seconds (as it should each time you turn the ignition) and then turn off.

my friend's av6 2000 ex got a bad seat belt anchor, when we reset the srs light the light will come back on like after a week, finally got tire of it and went to the dealer, it was a defected part. they fix it for free
i work on my car alarm, sometimes i need to take off the battery. when i reconnect it the srs light comes on all the time. i took it to the dealer while it was under warranty, they helped me reset it. but after warranty was over, they had to charge me. so now its just on all the time.
