What are some symptoms of a broken steering rack? I have been having problems with my car when it is turning. I don’t know if it is the steering rack or something else. I also have brand new axles. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

 

Damn, steering problems on a 2001 GSR? Are you getting loud noises when turning wheel in both directions?

 

been in a mk1 vw golf with a busted steering rack. the car was nearly impossible to keep in a straight line... it was literally imjpossible to stay in a straight line on bad roads where it would tramline.

what problems are you having when turning?

 

I get very loud noises when I turn to either side. A left turn is worse than a right turn. The wheels will sorta lock up and not wanna turn. When the car is sitting and I jerk the wheel, it makes a clunk noise.

 

Can anyone else help?

I'd venture to say its the rack!!

there goes at least 400-500 $$

 

Know where I can get a remanufactured or oem unit cheap? I think I may have to just go to the junkyard, and see if I can find one.

Are all 94+Integra steering racks the same, or do they differ?

 

So does anyone else have any input?
