Default addition to drop shop petition- new manifolds issueud by jon- sneak peak

i hope jon doesn't mind, but the SS manifold tubular style upgrade he was talkin about i think are these ones. look pretty nice if you ask me..... Soo everyone that was on the GB are gettin these ..... i thihnk ....

all in all i think jon's a good guy, he IM's me from time to time to shoot the **** about wats going on etcc, and he opted to shoot ouut for overnight shipping on a T25 oil return flange when he realized he sent it to the wrong place. So anyways, jon will get to you guys on your orders, and you're gonna be hhappy with the manifolds he's giving you for your troubles .. lookin at the pics make me wanna get one.

I talked to jon about it, and he didnt want those posted because his gas tank was very low so the welds dont look as sexy as his newer welds are. To be fiar, heres one of his newer welds:

Internal wastegate.

External wastegate is a waste of $ unless you have a tight packaging situation that merits one.

im pretty sure woever orderd it wnated to keep te costs down and use an internal wastegate, im sure woever ordered one wit an external gate will get it.

internal wastegates suck

that second pic of the weld is beautiful.

I would be more comfortable having slits cut in the flange just for expansion purposes.

i don't really like the design of them. Runners 2 and 3 run striahgt into a wall. it would be better if runners 2 and 3 would go straight into the flange like the revhard tubular manifold IMO.

What is expanding that it needs slots cut through it? I have never seen a steel flange expand enough to break studs.

This is basically an improved version of the standard log manifold. It requires about the same cost for materials, and requires similar time for welding as a log manifold, and it looks like it will flow much better. Comparing this manifold to something that costs twice as much is not fair. Several people here on HT have said they made over 400hp on the regular log manifolds, and those also have what you call a 'wall' also.

I really like the design of them.

No but the flange may warp some. My max-rev did a little and I thank max-rev for putting in the slots. It's no biggie though, just mill it flat after breaking it in.

if you compare this manifold to the maxrev one, you will see that with the Max rev mani runners 2 and 3 flow DIRECTLY into the turbine. This manifold does not. I don't see how this is an improved version.

Also, i have never did business w/ Jon, but IMO is Rep has been ruined. people buying manifolds in October and still don't have them, he can give as many excuses as he wants but that fact still remains that he got in way over his head and has basically ruined his sellers image in my book as well as many others....

Ooooh... pissing contest. Such a petty priviledge.

Hatchblack: yeah, there are certain configurations where it's nearly impossible to fit a turbo with an internal wastegate, mandating an external one. I'm in the process of correcting one such scenario right now with a sawzall.

Its unfortunate you are too near sited to see the entire picture. Its not a question of whether or not people will get their manifolds, its a matter of time. Jon's shop move is almost finished.

couldn't have said it better myself. I'm sure he's a great guy and somehow everything is a mixup, but still... other companies don't have these mixups that end up taking 4-6 months to send their manifolds out.
