Default another one bites the dust =( .... not 56k friendly..

well fellow luders i regret to tell you that i was in a major accident last thursday... i was making a left turn and the light turned red so i had to go... but the guy coming from across ran the light and hit my front.... here are some pics of my baby

front:

my engine bay... notice my battery acid all over my engine bay..:

front... my radiator had a slight crack and was leaking before the accident but now....:

while me and my friend (visualvb on h-t) were picking up my car from the impound my friend spotted this:

seeing the skyline pretty much made my day but after that i realized how fucked i was cause they made the cause of the accident 50/50 and i have to pay for my own damages...

oh yea... and since this pic of my dog was on my digicam i might as well post it:

You need to fight that. I don't know how it is in Cali, but here in Bama its a bit different. This is how it was explained to me:

#1. The light was red, so it was "no man's" land right then. If you had been coming from the OTHER direction from your right, ACROSS the intersection, it would've been his fault.

#2. Since you were in "no man's land" first, you had the right of way. Your car was already in the intersection, his was not.

I would deffinately speak with someone, especially your insurance, about that.

My sister got into an accident similar to that, except the guy in front of her coming across the intersection ran the red light, and she had to wait for him to come all the way through. Another girl was coming from her left, saw the light turn green, and didn't slow down. My sister didn't get out of the way in time, and got hammered. The police wrote it down as the other girls fault because my sister, plain as day, was already there and couldn't move. And THAT girl HAD a green light.

Let me know if you want an airbag for pretty cheap. I have one for sale.

thanks for the info but i've talked to several people including some local cops here and they all say that its my word against the other guys (who said it was a yellow light) but i faxed my police report to a lawyer and he has to research it and get back to me and tell me what he can do...

Ok, let me clearify this for you, the local cops and the cop that took the report/ issued citations are just covering their asses. Unless the accident causes personal injury, it is basically a civil problem. The only thing the cops can do anything about it is issue citations for the laws that had been broken. If it is unclear who broke the law first then it is safer to either cite both or neither one and have the insurance companies fight over who was at "fault" It is amazing how many times cops get sued with things invloving accidents that they took a report on.

I would definatly fight it........that sucks about your car though.....Good Luck

I feel for ya man, I was in an accident about a month ago. Some D*** just stopped short right in front of me, he claimed a dog was about to run out in front of his car. Even though I didn't any dog in the road the accident was my fault apparently, according to the accident report.

That sucks about your car bro, the same thing happened to me while i was visiting my sister in Chapel Hill, except i was able to just get out of the way in time before the car that ran through hit me.....and there was a cop at the left side of the intersection waiting for me to get out of the way ....saw the whole thing, then pulled ME!!!! over for speeding through the intersection. I was at a dead stop waiting for students to cross the cross walk before i could turn so i was in the wrong lane, light was red, suv came through anyway, almost killed me, cop saw it, i got harrassed......guess they dont like new yorkers down there

Damn. It seems like all of our Preludes are getting taken away lately. Why can't they just be little fender benders instead of this garbage? Definetely try and fight this one though, if the guy who hit you actually ran the light then he would be at fault, not you. Good luck and for the rest of you guys.... BE SAFE and don't lose anymore Ludes.

i dont know... if i can get it fixed for cheap i'll do it.. but then again they say a car is never the same once its salvaged... i'm actually thinking about getting a hatch and putting my h23 in there for insurance purposes... i dunno... it all depends on the settlement.. if it helps i was actually taken away by an ambulance cause my back and neck were hurting.. maybe that'll turn the tide in a civil suit..

Nah, there is nothing wrong with the skyline, there is an asian guy around here in glendale that has it, and i see him driving it around alot, i think he might of done something really stupid, and got his car impounded, but then again, if they impound that imported car, dont they like keep it, and not get it back, unless its detuned and made legal for the US?!?

ROFLMAO!!!!
Sorry about your car, but two things, like i said on the IM wash the engine bay quickly cuz the battery acid will f&^% everything up, and second, i don't see major damage, well at least for the frame. I see bad radiator, AC radiator (forgot the name right now), radiator suppot fram (again, forgot, hey english is my second language), hood and headlights as well as some lil things, but the worst parts are those, definetly fix it. Is not bad.

EDIT: for the ones that are interested https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=324730
