brainstorm...short ram intake/cold air intake
ive been looking into header wrap, and every company claims that it decreases underhood temperatures by 70%. my thought was that this colder temperature under the hood will ive you about the same horsepower from a short intake as from a long intake without the worries of sucking up a bunch of water and hydrolocking. any thoughts??? also, header wrap is cheaper than the cost difference between a short and cold intake.
not really. there is still a large amount of heat under the hood that is consumed in the intake. the header wrap basically keeps the heat in the exhaust tubing and because of thermal dynamics basically keeps the speed up in the exhaust. your still going to get heat from the block and head being emitted. ur best off getting a cai or else do an ice box from comptech
