Hey guys. Just wondering if anybody has purchased the fake spoon mirrors from ebay. If so, overall rating good or bad? I've heard different things, like they shake and don't fit for ****. Can anyone confirm or deny any of this? Thanks.

 

The mold's are are shitty sometimes. The mirrors are prone to breaking.

I had a set & was kind of disappointed the mirrors broke on me so went out and bought the real deals.

 

i have a set of fake spoon mirrors on ebay for my teg. the way it fits, its not bad for its cheap quality. I can can tell you this that you want be able to see **** on the sides. you will mostly depend on your rear view mirror and turning heads left to right. my driver side is ok, i can work with it, but my passenger side, dont even think bout looking at it. wont see ****. im just going to put back my stock mirrors on for safety. if you want mine, ill sell it to you. (power too)

my buddy has a set of real spoon mirrors on his civic and you will notice the quality of spoon.

Are those in the pic real or fake? How much shipped for your old ones? I have a DX (manual mirrors)...they won't bolt up, will they?

 

yeah these are real pictures off my car. i can take you some more if you like. no they wont bolt up. unless somones can modify it(good luck) the corners to the fenders are sharped and civics are round.

 

what the hell is that guy talkin about? y0 i have the ebay ones..**** is ill son..y0 if u want "noticible difference"..lol no difference man..y0 if u want to be a dork and spend 300 dollars on mirrors then do it..but my advice pay 70 and get these..

 

The mirrors need to be slightly modified to fit properly...Not that hard to do. And "Spoon quality"? Come on, don't be so gullable. Anyone that has bought the real Spoon/Vision mirrors can vouch for their "quality", or lack thereof.

Rule of thumb here: Try and listen to what everyone has to say, and not base your descision on one statement. Better yet, get some for yourself. You'll thank many of us for saving you an extra $250 bucks...

I've had 2 sets of real spoon/vision mirrors. First was the plastic one and now i just bought the new c/f ones. Overall, quality and fitment is alot better then the cheap knockoffs. I have 2 friends that have the fake sh*t and when it rains water drips into their door panel like crazy because the fake ones tend to have gaps with the fitment. So like the saying "You get what you pay for"

Can a decent bodyshop fit them up nice and leakproof is the real question here i think ...

 

That's funny. I have the fake ones, so do a few of my freinds. I have sat through the terrible California rain we just had, and not a drop of water came into my door. As far as fitment of the mirror on my car, couldn't be better. Sits perfectly flush and looks stock. Maybe your friends installed them wrong?

I think this is just the old time argument of real vs. knockoff. The only people to defend knockoffs are the owners, and visa versa. I have never had a problem with mine, and can assure I won't anytime soon. That $250 I saved sure went a long way...Instead of paying for a name. Same thin plastic housing, same plastic mounting plate. I actually think the knockoff has a thicker mirror housing than the Spoon/Vision.

i have seen both set of them. i have the FAKE mirrors off ebay, my buddy has REAL spoon mirrors from inlinefour.com, i KNOW the difference in it.
the fitmint on the fake spoon mirrors on my integra are good and yes, slight modifications will fit them properly, i never said it didnt fit well. theres no raindrops going inside my panels, it has a blue tint to it with no rubbers around it. quailitys are good, but the visabilty SUCKS. i know what im talking bout, cuase i have them on my car.

ive sit in my buddys civic and your visability are still as great as the OEM mirrors. not as good but still great due to the size of the mirror. so if you've seen both of them, then maybe you do have a an advise to give to the buyer. if you havent seen them, please dont go by what you hear in HT. and to say " you'll say thanks to many of us for saving your an extra $250" cmon' yeah that maybe true, but what you pay for is what you get. why do you think im trying to get rid of mine? My advise to the buyers is that, if you want to be cheap and have replica looks to it, go get it, but you will regret it. you will be tired of turning and tossing heads left to right just to change lane. just save those money and get yourself the real ones. REAL JDM mirror, not gAyDee eM style.

well i just got my fake ones a couple days ago...lemme just say that i was very impressed with them...honestly i didn't think they would fit as good as they did...As for visibility, it was also pretty good... i can see clearly from both mirrors and last about the water dripping...It rained pretty hard last night and NO water came in... overall i was very impressed with the fakes and hey for 43.00 shipped...you can't beat that

Actually, I have owned both. And if you had any mechanical inclination whatsoever, the vision and adjustability problems can be solved in less than 5 minutes. Again, I cannot justify the additional $250 increase. Maybe you can...Great for you. You're also probably one of those people that puts the Spoon sticker on after you got your mirrors, and saves the box for everybody to see.
