i have a set of hx's and wondering how to polish these lips? got pics w/ intructions? thanx!

 

tape off what you don't wanna polish with some 3M tape.
get some air craft paint stripper
spray it on the area you wanna polish
let it sit for about 5-15min.
get a brush of some kind and scrub off the paint.
keep doin this until you get most of the paint off.
then start sandin the left over paint off. (80-1000 grit)
then get some polish and get to work. the mothers polish/cleaner works great.

(quick tip) try to get most of the paint off with the paint stripper. that way you wo'nt have to sand that much. this results in more of a polished look.

clear coat wouldn't hurt

yea a clearcoat will prolly help, but i haven't put any on mine except for the part i painted. if you need more info pm me and i'll help you out.

 

I just did this in photoshop. This is what mine will hopefully look like when I finish. They are the exact same wheel. Not hx wheels though.

where would one get a set of hx wheels? i'm guessing they'd be pretty cheap. i wanna get some for the winter

I have wheels with a red lip. Part of it is a bit chipped, and underneath it is polished. I'm thinking about polishing...think I should do it? I'm afraid I'll mess them up =\

 

You just have to keep up on them. I really should put some clear coat on them. That would help too.

Why have I never seen these before? Are they standard on all HX's? What size do they come? Are they heavy? I'm liking these a lot.

 

These rims come stock with only Civic HX's. They are very light and designed by Enkei (sp?). They are 14". They come in silver/aluminum stock.

 

where could you pick up supplies to do this?
