Default hondata exhaust head gasket

i saw this on the last page of the march 03 Turbo, the gasket acts a thermal barrier to the exhaust mani and the head to keep temps lower. They claim a 3% increase in power. msrp is $60, pretty good bang for the buck. Anyone have one or heard about it?

...then turbo magazine has a misprint on their hands. It's an intake manifold gasket and it's around 1/8 inch thick. I don't know about their HP claims but it does seem logical that lowering the heat tranfer from the head to the IM would result in lower intake temps and therefore denser air, at least for awhile. I have had one on for about 3 months.

Have you noticed any difference in performance?

I really couldn't tell you. I installed a long list of mods at the same time and haven't a clue which did what. I can tell you that the skunk2 manifold w/ the Hondata gasket stays much cooler to the touch than the stock manifold did. It's a cheap mod, I'd say it's worthwhile, especially if you're swapping IMs anyway.
