Default Bought last Mugen mod... I swear!

I think that I've ordered my last mods. I just got off the phone with King Motorsports where I ordered the Mugen cat-back exhaust and suspension. Hand to God, I'm done...maybe! Once all the stuff gets shipped I'll put on everything that I have in boxes on the car. Hopefully, I'll have it done by the time summer rolls around. Here's my final setup:

K&N Drop-in Filter (installed)
JDM Type S Air Intake (ordered)
Mugen Header (installed)
Mugen Cat-Back Exhaust (ordered)

Mugen Radiator Cap (installed)
Mugen Thermostat (in box)
Mugen Fan Switch (in box)

JDM Type S Strut Tower Brace (in box)
Mugen (Showa) Suspension (ordered)

Everything else is bone stock! No appearance mods...unless someone were to GIVE me the genuine Mugen body kit and a set of 17' mirror-face MF10s! Not likely! This car is my 1 and only car, so I didn't want to get to radical. Anyone else have this setup?

I oreder my Mugen header last week. King says I should be receiving the header next week. They're shipping it out today or tomorrow.

I don't know, I didn't put it on the throttle. Just kidding. There was maybe a little better throttle response with just the filter. I still recommend it over the stock one though!

The K&N drop-in was the first thing I bought back in Dec of '02. Holy Crap! I've had my car bone stock since I bought it new back in Sept of '98. I've bought all this stuff in the last few months! Yeah, I'd better stop now before I end up in some 12 step program!

I still like bone stock Preludes. Just keep up the maintenance because you still own a great car!

Have you checked out Kings updated website?I don't know if it's typos or what, but the stuff for the prelude has gone up in price.

I think my suspension comes in less than 2 weeks and my cat-back will be in in March sometime. I'll probably drive up to them and let them install it like they did with my header. They do a much better job than I can!

I ordered the Type S airbox from:

http://www.polepositionproducts.com/

I should be getting it in the next couple of weeks when Howard gets his shipment of JDM stuff in. I've been waiting for this part to install my thermostat & fan switch. I'm going to be removing the stock intake to replace those parts. I just don't want to take it off twice, so I'll just wait!

Mugen Fan Switch (in box)
You do know that the Mugen fan switch will not fit, right? The thermostat housing has to be machined and threaded for it.

I had my Mugen thermostat and fan switch installed at the same time and the tech didn't say **** about having any type of problem. If he did, he didn't mention it and still only charged me $25.

edit: The new e-commerce site is a big improvement, now I don't have to wait 'til they open to call anymore. Yeah you're right, a lot of things did go up in price, but only like $10-$20, for the Ludes anyway, nothing major. The stuff for my friend's S2000 went up a little more though, up to $50+ for the exhaust/header. It's cool though, their prices had been the same for awhile, so...

That's cool, then Mugen finally resolved the issue with their fan switch. A while back they were not fitting properly.

You scared me there for a second!

I actually bought the Thermostat, fan switch, and radiator cap at King Motorsports after they installed my header. Scott said that the fan switch and thermostat installation wasn't that bad and shouldn't take me that long to do.

Since none of the Honda dealerships around me will even touch an aftermarket part... even Mugen ... I've ordered the Helms manual for my car so I can do it myself.

I could try using the directions that came with the parts, but until I take a Japanese language course at ISU, I guess I'll stick with the Helms manual!

You're lucky, I've got the wrong radiator so the cap wouldn't fit. I gave it to my friend to put on S2k.

I do have an authorized Honda service shop that does all my work for me, or the Acura dealer here will also. All the techs at both are track junkies so it's all good.

I work for a Japanese company, so they do all my translating for me with parts that have JDM instructions. They haven't taken me up on my offer to go and "train" at one of our Japanese plants though. Guess they know I just want to sneak my JDM stuff through Customs as machine parts...

What is the difference between a USDM vtec prelude intake and a JDM Type-S?

Hey, I do too! I am an autoworker for Mitsubishi Motors Manufacturing. Yep, that's right, I build Mitsubishis! We build the Eclipse Coupe/Convertible, Gallant, Endeavor, and we also build the 2 door versions of the Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Sebring.

I don't think the techs from Japan want to translate the instructions of my Mugen parts for my Honda!
