I have a 92 si. I had the rear rotors and pads replaced a few weeks ago at Firestone, and shortly thereafter i hear this intermittent *squeak*.........*squeak*........*squeak*, and so on. I take it into my newly found friend at monro muffler and he refeals to me that there is a small raised seam of sorts on the rotor that is rubbing the pad every time it goes around. Do you think i should just go back to firestone (again! ) and request that i get new rotors? or is there something i can do alternatively. thanks

 

You can get the rotors turned instead of replacing them. Now would be a good time to pick up some Brembos if you have the cash though.

 

yeah, great excuse huh? but nope- i have no cash. By turned do you just mean rotated?

 

turned= when they basically resurface the rotor so that it is smooth like new.

I would go back to firestone and make them redo the brake job. I probably just needs some lubricant or cleaning of the disk. easy stuff.
