"What happened to your car, Jerry?" Let me tell you.
Those of you who see my Civic at VIR this weekend will wonder about the peculiar damage. Here's how it got that way.
Last Tuesday, I cleared the snow off Madame Geezer's Acura and went out to shovel the front walk. Didn't need the Civic until Friday so I left it alone. Madame G decided to be nice an clean it off for me using a push broom. Since the sleet at the end of the storm had caked on top of the snow, she used the end of the broom to break it up. MG doesn't realize how strong she is.
Finished with the walk, I returned to the garage and looked at my now snow-free Civic. Strange, I don't remember that dimple in the hood, or those other 2, 3...6, 7, 8! or the 2 on the roof!!
After laying in the snow for a few minutes to cool down (now you know why there was a cloud of steam over Springfield) I politely asked MG to come out and look at my car. Her first words weren't "Sorry" or "Oh, dear" but even better; "I'll get it fixed." And she will. She knows how I feel about my cars.
I guess I could ride this guilt train for all it's worth. Time I spent installing a stove and range hood for her, and visiting her mom, have already kept me from having my race car finished in time for VIR. With this latest episode, the balance of power is definately mine. But I think I'll just let it slide. There's probably a bone-head move sometime in my future, and it's nice to have something back.
Hmmm. Couldn't pick up my trailer or race tires due to the snow. Car all dented. Looks like rain Saturday. Is someone tryiing to tell me something?

They're speed dimples, like on a golf ball! Er, wait, that means you'd only be going faster when spinning
Good to hear you were able to keep your cool about it

I watched one of my neighbors clean the ice and snow off her winshield and hood with the blade of her snow shovel. She flipped it over and was using it like an ice-scraper.
I hope you get her fixed. (The car, not MG.)

I will be leaving tomorrow. I'm gonna turn some wrenches on the kar tonight and see how far i get, and get some work done so i have less to take to the track (which is not very condusive for studying). I may be installing suspension at neil's shop tomorrow morning. The upper mounts Ground-Control sent me dont fit on my koni shocks....
then stop surfing Honda Tech and get your errands done, stunna. you betta not crap out on coming tonight!
Thread hijack. Like a ****.
Jerry, that's the pits! Sorry to hear about the dents...that car always looked so much nicer than mine. (The difference of 80,000 or so miles may also have made a difference in that, too

OK Geezer, tell us what REALLY happened. MG caught you with the neighbor's wife and took a broom handle to your Civic in a fit of jealousy... right?
On a related note, i called GC back. My initial conversation i specifically mentioned i would be using these on Koni shocks. The koni's come with a metal sleeve that fits over the shock, so they tell me now i need to re-use the one that came with my shocks (instead of the sleeve pre-installed in the mount). The only problem is the sleeve in the GC upper mounts seem to be in there rather solidly. I express this concern as he's rushing to get me off the phone and he sez "oh yea, just press those out..... "
Now, first they should have been the right size. However i can deal with putting the new metal sleeves in.. if i had known ahead of time and i could have Neil press them out for me.
Last weeks' parts purchasing bonanza looks like this:
Cobalt =
TireRack =
Ground Control =
Modacar =

The Parts Bin =

And I had to order a new tire yesterday, too. All of this before I brushed my teeth and took a dump before heading to bed. Crazy, isn't it?
