i'm looking for a tranny with long gears. i was thinking of going with the h23 tranny, but someone had mention to go with the f22 tranny and the it is longer then the h23 and that the h23 isn't that much different from the h22. what do you guys think? which tranny would be the best for a turbo h22?

What superhonda has been feeding into your mind is that long gears are better because you're in boost longer , but what you do'nt know is that you accelerate faster with the shorter gearing.

I have pondered this question myself. I dont think you will see much of a difference to your 1/4 mile time with any of these transmisssions though, probably the H22 one being the best.

 

with a h-22 trans i'm way into fourth in the eighth. the h-23 has a slightly taller gear. i beleive the difference is 4.23 versus 4.09 final drive.

 

what with the final drives? what do the numbers mean and how do they work??
