I need a tire with a little bit more durability than my RE010's that will still provide good grip and wet weather handling. All I need is to be able to get 30,000mi out of a set. Please keep in mind that price is also a factor. I would like to stay below the 350 mark. Thanks.
Toyos are unbelievable in bed. They are alright on the road.
So, Toyo RA-1s seems like the prime choice for price instead of T1-S'. They kick *** though, I love my T1-S'.

Why not get a LS if you want to get 30k out of the tires??? that will only mean running wear rating 350+ which are rock hard and don't stick (you cannot have the best of all worlds)
I had RE730's on my S2000 and THEY SUCK!!!!

I agree, you should have fun with your car. Don't cheap-out on tires, my first set of all-seasons (XGTs) just killed the handling. If you need winter tires (like me) that's one thing, but you should at least drive the car most of the time with good rubber. I really like the re010's. I've killed 2 sets of tires & I'm working on a 3rd in 39K miles.

For the money the Kumho 712's are great... you have to run a little more pressure in the front due the the softer side walls(38or lessf/33r), but after a couple hundred miles they start to grip pretty well. Yes they will squeal at the limit. They feel good at 70 in the rain also...
RE-730s are quite nice.
They stick good... talk just a bit more than RE-010s... and have a treadwear rating of 300. Not too pricey for the performance. I give 'em a
on the bang-for-buck rating.

I was waiting to order a set of S-03s, but they were still not available, when I got a screw in one of my tires. Of course, they were all at the wear indicators, so nobody would repair it, and this wasn't a small screw. So I was stuck going with whatever I could get right away, which meant the Dunlop SP8000 in that size. I ran these before on my GSR, and they are great all around. They do not stick as well at the limit, but for daily aggressive driving, they are excellent. Wear is better than the 010, and does very well in the rain. Depending on driving style, may not last 30K. Abuse them, I'd expect 12K - take care of them, and it is possible to get 20-30K. I got 25K out of a set of CompTA ZRs, which are just a tad harder than these, but I didn't like how noisy they were. The 8Ks are very quiet and progressive up to the limit, where they let you know.

After waiting 5 weeks for a set of RE730s ($210CA installed each), I finally gave up and ordered a set of Khumo 712s ($120CA installed each) as my SP8000s were _completely_ bald. At first I was dissapointed with them ... the car felt a lot looser. After a couple of weeks they're getting much better. They are great in the rain ... good in the turns ... not too noisy. I would definately buy these tires again.
so haven't looked into the SP5000s? 205/5015 Z rated and all season tires, isn't that what u should be looking for?
btw, treadwear is 340, so i'm sure it'll do "30K"

yeah, i also waited a month for my re-730 ($210 CDN also), but it's definitely worth it, great grip in dry and wet, it's no comparsion to the XGT that was replaced. no road noise or squeak on hard cornering. but if you want something cheaper, try yoko avs-i, i can't get them here 'cause it was discontinued, but i believe tirerack still have them for $65.
how about new Falken Azenis tire?
It's a pretty popular tire in JDM land for lapping days. It's going to be 200 treadwear, but supposedly has incredible grip and stiff sidewall.
yoshi - who misses the stiff sidewall of the Advan AO22s

Yoshi, tell me about the tires you speak of... Me interested? Mad expensive?
I'm thinking Potenza S-03 Pole Positions will be the ultimate... my friend with an M3 just got a set and he hasn't stopped raving about them.
I should be up for a new set of tires by the end of the year and those are on my list... I am currently enjoying my RE-730s (treadwear 300), but the way I drive, we'll see how long they last...

i'm still waiting to hear back from America's Tire regarding the tire. Here is the website: http://falken.innovapp.com/html/prod...nis/azenis.htm
I've read some european/ aussie reviews of the tire and all liked it ALOT. Best thing is that it's cheap!! Onlinetires.com has the 205/50R15 for $63 and the 215/45R16 for $102ea.
yoshi - who's still waiting for A.T. to get back to me
Anyone tried Pilot Sports (or whatever the top Michelins are called) or P-Zeros? Josh? Any comparison opinions vs. other tires mentioned or re010?
