Default Quick question please help...

I think I just broke my timing belt in my '94' GS-R. Does anyone know if it is a non-interference engine?? Meaning if the T-belt did break would it cause internal damage such as valve and possibly piston damages.

Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Pray, pray, and pray some more. I think it's an interference engine.

Yea man, if you were drivin and your timing belt snapped or what not, it's more than likely you've got internal damage .. How many miles were on this timing belt and what was the situation when it broke?

Okay, so I guess it's unanimous. If it did break I guess my buddy and I will have to break apart the engine left the head and get new valves in at least..

thanks guys. Anymore suggestions would be appreciated.

I was driving about 40 mph when all of a sudden I lost throttle response and the tach went to zero, then the car shut off and I coasted into the shoulder. I could not crank it up after that, only the starter was working. This timing belt has no more than 20,000miles but I think the guy who installed it in his back yard did a sloppy job. "I knew I should have done it myself"

thanks
