365 days in jail and 3 years probation Seems like a slap on the wrist for what he was charged with
1. Felony carjacking
2. Felony assault with a deadly weapon (tazer)
3. Felony robbery

So basically stealing cars = no legal punishment, which really pisses me off because he could have had a gun and shot me.

 

Well lets hope bubba sticks it in his ***. or he dies in jail

 

Man...should be way more.

 

Doesn't really feel like justice was served... *shrug* At least he lost a year of his life because of it. I just hope he doesn't somehow get out early.

 

Sucks Andy. Most likely, his first offence. So, they don't do anything to him. But his life is basically over with. He'll never be able to get a normal job again... if that's any solace.

 

Glad to see there was some resolution to this. He deserved more but maybe he'll turn into someone's girlfriend in jail.

This is true. Any job that does a background check will pass him the **** up

in my opinion anyone who attempts a carjacking with a tazer won't last 2 weeks on probation if that's any consolation. -rob

365 days may not seem like a lot, but it is...ask anyone who has been to jail, 365 days is an eternity, plus if this guy ever gets caught again, he will be double screwed, and will not be so lucky, judging by the sentence, he was definitely a first time offender, with little or no priors, true the system is wack, but i bet he wont try it again, you did a good job by making sure he was prosecuted..

 

damn... mixed feelings...good to hear he got prosecuted, but not so good it was so short in relative to what could have been. lets hope he learned his lesson and if he didnt, that he becomes the bitch of the year in prison.

 

At least he will spend some time in prison even though it should be a lot more.

 

I am not a newbie but changed my name an lost alot of posts,anways wanted to chime in on this.A year in jail does not mean he will spend that long in there.Every day in jail is about 2 days on the outside,he will server about 8-10 months an even less if they need space.Take it from me,I was senteced for 6 months in county an did just over 2 an a half.

3 Felonies and all he gets is a yr. in jail and 3 yrs probation... Well, at least one car jacker is off the streets for a yr.

 

I BET YOUR WRONG. JAIL IS A SCHOOL FOR CRIMINALS. HE WON'T DO A YEAR, AND WHEN HE GETS OUT HE WILL BE BETTER TRAINED TO PULL ANOTHER JOB.

unfortunately, it's not if you do all three at the same time.. but yeah, if he keeps it up, he could end up a three time loser..

That sucks, because like others have said, he will probably serve less than a year. Was he a minor? Seems like a lenient sentence for carjacking.

 

Does that count as one of his three strikes? Maybe its number two, one more and he's in for life.

BUT! What was he CONVICTED of.. I bet he got it reduced to misdemeanor.
