If they broke it make them fix it. They are a body shop, I'm sure they can do something.

you don't screw hood pins in. You rivet them in. They probably tried to use self tapping screws on it without drilling it before hand. That stuff is brittle. 'mobworks'? The name says it all.

MOB should cover their mistakes.

Unlike some shop that I had encounters with in the last few days.

I screwed mine on with the hardware supplied by OMP. But you're right, predrilling is a must.

FWIW I have cracking like that on my hood in a different location (don't ask). You are screwed, there is no complete fix. Go back to the bodyshop and let them know they just bought a CF hood.

Yeah he seems like a very nice guy, im not going to yell at him or anything. I just going to ask if there is anything he can do about it. Its sort of my fault for trying to go cheap, i get what i pay for.

yeah mob is the best body shop in la in my book.... probably someone besides miguel did the pins... he's really a great guy though... when i dropped off my car to get one of the sides repainted he not only drove me back to westwood from orange but he picked me up when the car was done and in doing so took about an hour and a half at least out of his day due to some crazy traffic on the freeways... so mob gets a in my book..... btw what do you mean when you said you were trying to go cheap?? in what sense? the pins? the hood itself?-rob

i was trying to go cheap because it only cost me 50 bucks, like area51 specializes in fabricating things and charges 100 bucks, but yeah miguel is a really cool guy. im not going to give him a hard time or anything. just ask him if he can do anything about it. in my books MOBworks is still

What would prevent you from buying this hood because of improper hood pin installation?

For $100, I'll install a set of hood pins, hatch pins, door pins, and a fuel filler pin.

Hate to break the news, but most shops wont insure hood pin installs, especially CF hoods. They are sooo brrittle. I hope it works out, but I am a little skeptical.

Umm NO!.
Tell them either they fix it, buy a new hood, or you will report them to the BBB (better business burea sp?) They will fix it..if not, call them, tell the the situation, then they will fix it. Trust me on this
