If it was stolen at the dealership, they have to reimburse you fully, do they not?
I took my 300ZX to a Nissan dealer in Tampa once a long time ago. Some douce nozzle programmed their own transmitter to my alarm. They thought I'd leave the car overnight. Also the doors were left open. I think this is definitely a case of negligence. If you can prove the dealership hires people with criminal records, maybe you could have a case. All you'd have to do is prove something was not normal or something was unreasonable. Seems a little too 'convenient' that a lot of cars in Tampa get stolen or broken into at dealerships, repair shops and rental yards.
ditto. too easy to have an employee cut a key, and look at the brake code to disable the immobilizer temporarily. the owner should ask the dealership to look up who has accessed his VIN and pertaining info in Honda Net.
You are correct and can be back-tracked on HondaNet if possible. However, you need to have someone inside to see if somebody did actually look up the key code and immobilizer code. Perhaps the service manager or parts manager can help you, but in all, a lawyer may be suggest. But then again, dealerships are never secured at nights either.
