Default A/C Belt too tight

Hey guys, i just had my A/C tensioner bearing replaced by Acura and since that, i hear this weird noise at idle like my belt is too tight... today, at idle, the RPM missed a little bit (for a second) (dropped from 800 to 600 approximattely) does it mess up my tioming belt or other components of the engine? I'll have it replaced in a week because I don't have time right now, but i just want to make sure i'm not breaking anything else during this time (i have this since 2 weeks now) I noticed my gas consumption went up also. other than that, my engine runs fine, even in acceleration

thanks for your reply

btw, i have a 95 integra rs with 110 k miles and just had the timing belt replaced 20 k ago

It doesn't mess up your timing.
It could put extra wear on your tensioner bearing & compressor bearings.

But I wouldn't judge it by the noise. That might just be the new bearing & seals running in. Judge the tension by pushing on the belt, or take it back to the dealer that did it & have them adjust.

Just how tight should the belts be?

I don't have my Helms book right now, but you push with your thumb on the longest span of the belt. Moderate pressure, by hand. The belt should move however far the manual says is right for your car.

I think on my GS-R the AC belt moves more than the other 2, mostly because the span is longer. Maybe 6 or 8 mm?

There are belt tension gauges. Thats more accurate then the thumb method.
