??engine code for 91 CRX si....

Default ??engine code for 91 CRX si....

Hi I own a prelude and dont know much about crx's, my brother is going to
be looking at a 91 si tommorow and needed to know what to look out for as know problems with them. It is the stock engine no swap so what is that engine code so I can do some research.

rust on the quarter panels over the wheel wells
rust around the sunroof
sunroof drain tubes clogged and leaking water into spare tire well inside the car

all common problems.

if it says d16a6, it is stock......but if you look at the numbers and see d15....steer clear of the car.....it is either a DX or an HF....they are slow.......Si's have a distinct sound and power to their own compared to a DX or and HF. If you see B16, B18 or B20......then you have a DOHC VTEC Engine in it.....they have more horsepower than a D series motor....good luck.
