black/brown smoke when I accelerate hard, what causes this
when i gun my car i get some black smoke that I can see in the rear view mirror. the motor is a gsr, what can cause this??
warn piston rings is usually the cause when black/bluish smoke comes out when accelerating...
on deceleration, it's usually warn valve guides...late

how much mileage is on your motor? really sounds like you're burning oil
Edit: Actually, you said when you "gun" it. Doesn't a stock car with vtec run rich or richer when in vtec? That could be the reason behind the black smoke.
