B16 Intake Manifold on a B18B1
ok im kinda just been glancing through some old topics, bits and pieces, but ill start off with, will this work? i found a pic of the two IM's and showing the bolt comparisons, also what kind of gains will i be presented with? Has anyone done this? I would also probably get the B16 IM' s polished before i put it in, thanks for all the help everyone.
I believe that the early ones, 89-91, won't be compatible with your current throttle body. I believe the FIV will interfere, it sure does on the same gen ls intake mani's. Their tb's are smaller than yours too.
There's a link about somone putting a type r intake mani on their ls somwhere tho, i think they had to get machine work done to match the coolant ducts i think
found it http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=85 -the type r head is basically a ported b16, so i assume the mani's line up the same.
I'd hate to do all the work in getting my ls mani off to find out that the b16 mani ports are smaller than my ls intake ports. If you dont' get any positive feedback from it, then i wouldn't risk it, get the skunk2, its made for your engine.
