I need some advice
I have about 2 grand limit i can spend on the car. ( 89 civic hb dx). Im trying to find out what I should do.
my current engine is a d15. I get blue smoke when I floor it. I think it needs piston
rings. Its burning oil
1)I want to get a b-series but the price is high.
2)Zc would be second choice with si trans
3)d16a6 with head package from exospeed.
4)rebuild the d15 block for cheap and put ported d16 head on it.
My main goal is to get anywhere between mid 15's to high 14's NA.
If you guys have some other options let me know.

would be my choice. might want to rebuild what you go so u can spend more money on other things, a6 heads are cheap. should beable to find one for under 100 bucks. and work it out, all the bolts ons, a cam, maybe new ignition system and you should have a fairly reliable motor that can run high 14s. might want to get a nice clutch and lighter flywheel to help with the 1/4 times.

2.) propably about 1 grand or so if you have to get the si tranny too and get parts for mpfi.
3.)just worry about getting a motor in the car first.
4.)still gonna want to do an mpfi swap if your gonna bother porting an a6 head.
the stock zc should get you at least mid 15s...
i would just get an a6 or a zc since your gonna have to rip your motor out anyways to fix it right.
if you can find a junky si with a decent motor in it you can use it for the parts, and then sell all of the rest of the parts in the car on ebay and make some of your money back.
or you can just get a zc and use your dx tranny...if you don't want to blow all of your money, and save some for other goodies.
